at the same time . while he was walking in the rain . with his shoelace untied . half a world away . in another country . .

despite of all the noise in the army camp . silence was all he heard . he was looking up to the sky and thinking whether he should tell his wife that he is leaving for the war in the middle east . this time he don't even know if he's coming back . he got into the car and leave the army camp .

He left the camp at 3.04pm . .

after a 30 minute drive . he finally reach home . in the car he sat . still thinking whether he should tell her during dinner . he left the car still thinking . he open the front door and took a step into the house . he felt comfortable with where he is right now . the warm and cozy atmosphere seems to lift up his mood . but deep inside him he know that the news his going to break to his wife is going to ruin everything . he took off his boots and socks and leave them by the side of the shoerack and walk over to the kicthen . he saw her standing there . busy with the cooking . the radio was on but it wasn't loud enough to be heard especially with the cooking going on in the same place .

He : Why do you still on the radio when you know you're not gonna
be able to hear them especially with the cooking going on in the same place .

surprise to see him standing there in the kitchen . she ran to him and gave him a hug and kiss him . she looked at him with her arms on his shoulders and smile .

She : When you're not around . the only thing that keeps my company in this house while i'm cooking is the radio . . now i can off it since you are here with me .

upon hearing she said that . he know he have to tell her . he just do not know when .

She : Why not you go up and take a shower and rest . it must have been a rough day at that camp . i will wake you up when it's time for dinner .
He : Okay love . .

he went upstairs and into the room . put his bagpack aside and took off his army uniform .
once he was done with the shower . he went to take a nap . soon he wake from what felt like 5 minutes nap . he looked at the clock and it was going to be dinner soon . he take another shower and was already on his way downstairs for dinner when he heard his phone rang . it was his commander . he was told to report to the camp by 10 and leaving the country by 11 . . once done with the phonecall . he get ready for dinner .

He : Spaghetti . . lovely . .
She : I know you love them .
He : Not as much as i love you . .
She : Thank you honey . .

They had dinner at 7.31pm

It was a beautiful dinner . his mind wasn't calm . it was time .

He : Honey i have to tell you something
She : Yes ?
He : I'm leaving
She : For how long ?
He : I don't know . I don't even know if i will be back
She : Why do you say that ?
He : My platoon will be send to the middle east . to the war . the troops over there need our help .
She : When will you be leaving ?
He : I need to report to the camp by 10 tonight

she got up and went to the kitchen . what was once a beautiful dinner has now turn to a sad one . there he was sitting at the dining table alone . she was in the kitchen crying endlessly by the kitchen sink . he left the dining room and went over to the kitchen . gave her a hug .

He : I'm sorry . But i have to leave you tonight .
She : Promise me you will come back .
He : I promise i will come back for you . Please wait for me .
She : I will . I love you .
He : I love you too . always and forever .

both of them were in the kitchen the whole night . the dinner was forgotten . they spend the evening holding each other in their arms by the fridge . soon it was time for him to leave . he went upstairs and put on the army uniform and went downstairs to wear his boots . after putting on his boots . he kissed her for one last time . they hugged . she cried . he carried his duffel bag . he got into the car knowing full well that might be the last time he see her . he cried in the car and drove off . she cried by the door knowing full well that her husband is leaving the country for war . still she holds on the her husband's promise .

He left her at 9.23pm . .

after parking his car at the army base . he went to report to his commander . soon they were having standard procedures and last minute briefings . soon it was 11 and it was time for them to leave . he step into the plane and look back and realise that this might be the last time he see's this country again . he holds onto that promise he made to his wife . it is 11.07 and the plane is ready for lift off . his heart was beating faster and faster . he realise . he is going to a war and he have to fight for his life in order to come back . he knows it's going to be hard out there . he knows he might not make it back . .

He left the country at 11.17pm . .
